Nepenthes peltata, BE-4025Nepenthes peltata comes from Mindanao in the Phillipines. Its quite a variable species in both stature and color but generally produces very robust, tubby pitchers with a very wide mouth. The tendril insertion is peltate (meaning coming from inside the leaf) but plants have to be fairly large to exhibit this characteristic. Its documented to grow from 800 meters to over 1600 meters so its likely tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Weve grown it

We were inspired to make this cross by the Nepenthes Kohala grex out of Leilani Nepenthes Nursery which was (kampotiana x maxima) x (veitchii x fusca)

It would make a good candidate for a sunny windowsill

This species comes from the Barisan range in Sumatra where it grows sympatrically with other iconic Nepenthes species such as dubia and lingulata
