Nepenthes ovata, BE-4084Nepenthes ovata comes from the Barisan Range in Sumatra. Its a stunning species. The robust lower pitchers have wide, flared peristomes that can be orange, yellow or red with beautiful striping. The lower pitchers often darken as they mature. The upper pitchers have colorful striping on the peristomes and are infundibular shaped. Weve found this species to be quite a climber and have had plants with stems >15 feet long. The Pasian form of truncata grows in the same range as Nepenthes robcantleyi and can be grown well under highland conditions (although we keep it in our lowland room with our other truncatas and it does well there too)

I have found it to be grow well under typical highland conditions
